After traumatic events and relationships, we can sometimes become our own worst enemy. We might become part of the assault, even adopting the cruel language of our abusers.
Even if we’re escaping with sugar, food, alcohol, or substances the avoidance, carcinogens, and sheer denial that is required to participate in continuing to abandon the self is huge.
I often joke with my coaching clients to “Stop hitting yourself!” and I say this because it can be really easy to participate in the trauma, after the trauma.
Go for a walk, eat clean, drink a glass of water, take a multi-vitamin. It’s not that hard to show up for ourselves, but how often do we avoid it?
I’d love to help you on your healing journey. It can be good to have a roadmap.
